The pedestrian, a 3-year-old female, was treated at the scene by paramedics and transported to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries.
The girl, who the coroner’s office identified as McKaylee Grampp, was accidentally struck by her father who was driving the car. It does not appear alcohol, drugs or speed were a factor in the collision and no arrests have been made.
The girl’s mother, who appeared to be pregnant, was transported by paramedics for precautions.
An on-line account has been set up to assist the family. You can go to a YOU CARE Account to donate.
Two Burbank Police chaplains were called to the scene and assisted with the emotional state of the family and several neighbors, bystanders and officers.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Burbank Police Traffic Investigators at (818) 238-3100.
