A Los Angeles man was arrested on several charges after a Burbank Police officer on patrol noticed the man sitting in a parked car in front of a residence on Fairview St. on Friday, February 14, at 5:25 p.m.

Mark Malsack, age 51, was sitting in a newer Chevy Camaro with Washington license plates parked at the curb in front of 539 N. Fairview St. in Magnolia Park. The patrolman, aware of recent residential burglaries throughout Burbank, contacted the man.

According to the officer’s report, the man seemed nervous, and when checked, the license plate on the vehicle was flagged as a stolen vehicle out of LAPD Pacific division, according to Sgt. Darin Ryburn of the Burbank Police Department.

Malsack was detained and the vehicle was searched, leading to the discovery of a bag of suspected methamphetamine and credit cards and licenses in another name. Malsack was arrested on charges related to the stolen vehicle, identity theft and possession of narcotics. His bail was set at $50,000.
