Burbank Police Department announced the specialized bicycle stolen from the special needs child last weekend in the 4500 block of Clybourn Avenue has been located and returned to the family.
An alert citizen, who saw the news reports on this case last night, saw the bicycle off the side of a road in the Community of Silverlake Thursday morning and loaded the bike into her vehicle. She called Burbank Police Department and we responded.
Investigators inspected the bike and believed it was indeed the one stolen from Burbank. Investigators took custody of the bike and brought it to the victim’s home, where they confirmed it was the one stolen from their parking garage. Forensic evidence was recovered from the bike. The bike was subsequently released to the family.
Detectives are still trying to identify the suspect seen in the surveillance footage below, so he can be held accountable for his actions. If anyone knows or recognizes the man, please contact Detective Aaron Kay at (818) 238-3210.
