Christmas Tree inside City Hall – 1940’s/50’s

In the Early days of City hall (1940’s/50’s) the city Christmas Tree was in the center of the  Foyer of City Hall as seen above.

In the Early 1960’s the city started placing a very large tree out front with the Mayor lighting it each year in a gala ceremony. This tradition has continued to modern day.

The city float was always parked after the Rose Parade in the front of city hall for several days so all could see it up close. it is now parked at the corner of Olive and Glenoaks for a week. Great city traditions for the season.

Merry Christmas and Happy new year!
