Former JBHS and BHS Golfers Collaborate at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am Tournament

Former Cal Bear All-American Brandon Hagy (center) led the field at the AT&T at Pebble Beach this week in driving distance and tied for 34th after shooting 11-under 276 with rounds of 74, 66, 66, 70. Brandon has been a student of former Burroughs golfer Brady Riggs (right) for the last 11 years and has former Burbank golfer Corby Segal (left) on the bag as his caddy. JBHS and BHS working together….it can happen.

Lady Indians win their third consecutive league title; go undefeated in league in back-to-back seasons; won their school record 27th game of the season; and have won 23 straight contests to date.

Burroughs 68 Hoover 22

Burroughs won its third consecutive league title en route to their 22nd straight win and 27th consecutive victory dating back to last season. Jordan Meltzer scored 15 points; Destiny Contreras had 10 points; Sienna Brown recorded 9 points and 10 rebounds; Haley Wilson had 6 points and 8 rebounds; and Kamryn Cardenaz contributed 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists as the Lady Indians set a school record with their 26th victory of the season.

Bulldogs use strong second half to split the season series with the Indians.

Hoover 72 Burroughs 70 (OT)

The Indians lost another heart-breaker as they fell to 1-3 in overtime games during league play. Steven Hubbell had an outstanding game with 26 points (14 in the 4th quarter), 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 three-pointers. Chris Hovasapian scored 13 points; David Schwer added 12 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists; and Angelo Solis had 8 points and 11 rebounds.

Burbank 2 Burroughs 0

Kira Bochard and Samantha Gonzalez scored for the Lady Bulldogs as they shutout the Lady Indians.

Burbank 5 Pasadena 0

Burroughs 3 Hoover 0

The Lady Indians matched their season total of wins from last season beating Hoover 3-0 at Memorial Field Tuesday afternoon. Savannah Casteneda celebrated Senior Day in style by scoring the first goal of the match inside the first five minutes. JBHS added two second half goals by sophomore captain Maddie Riggs and freshman winger Catrina Villalpando. It was the Indians seventh shut out of the season.

Boys Soccer

Burbank 1 Burroughs 1

Serozh Kirakosyan scored for Burbank and Burroughs’ Angel Gonzalez tied the game in stoppage time as the two rivals battled to a tie.

Burroughs 2 Hoover 1

Down 1 to 0, Emil Khanlarian scored to tie the game in the 62nd minute. VJ Salazar scored the game winner with six minutes left in the game for the Indians.
