Burbank residents will have a chance to discuss issues with Assemblyman Mike Gatto this Saturday, January 17, as he will hold a Town Hall Meeting at The Burbank YMCA starting at 1:30.
The Town Hall, which has been titled “Building Responsible Government” is co-sponsored by myBurbank.com and will let residents not only talk local and State issues, but discuss new ideas for future bills.
Gatto, who just recently won re-election, is the longest-serving current member of the California State Assembly. He was elected to represent the 43rd District in a Special Election in June 2010. He is a lifelong resident of the district, born in Franklin Hills, and attending schools in Glendale, Los Feliz, and Silver Lake. Mike graduated from UCLA with a degree in History, and Loyola Law School (at night), magna cum laude.
The Assemblyman has worked extensively in government and the private sector. For years, he served as District Director to a United States Congressman representing the San Fernando Valley and Burbank. He also served in the administrations of two Los Angeles Mayors. In the private sector, Mike worked as an attorney representing California’s small businesses, assisting them with issues they had with government bureaucracy. Mike has also taught English and given his time extensively to legal clients and non-profit entities who could not otherwise afford an attorney.
Gatto also serves as the Chair, Privacy and Consumer Protection and is a member of Banking and Finance, Business and Professions, Elections and Redistricting and Insurance.
