The Burbank Police received a call at 2:07 p.m. by a grounds keeper of a person sleeping or possibly dead laying under a tree in front of Joslyn Adult Recreation Center at 1301 West Olive Avenue. The first police officer arrived on scene within two to three minutes and determined that the body of a female transient appeared deceased.
The Burbank Police Department secured the area, and detectives were called as they are involved with any deaths. Along with forensics personnel, they combed the area looking for anything suspicious.
The sidewalk that runs in front of Joslyn was closed off for the security of securing the scene and the Los Angeles Coroner was notified. It will be the coroners department that determines the cause of death but it appeared to be natural causes at the scene.
The body was removed by the coroners department and the police department wrapped up its investigation, removing the police line tape around 6:00 p.m.
More information will be provided by the Burbank Police at a later time.
